Privacy

Nothing to collect. Little to store.

Renitor is local-first by design. This page says exactly what that means — what never leaves your machine, what third parties see, and the one small record we keep when you buy a license.

Plain-language summary
  • The extension sends us nothing. No telemetry, no analytics, no crash reporting, no account, no activation server. License checks happen entirely offline on your machine.
  • Your chats go to the AI providers you connect — Anthropic, OpenAI, or OpenRouter — directly from your machine, under their privacy policies. They never pass through our servers.
  • If you buy Pro, PayPal handles the payment (we never see your card). We keep one small purchase record — order ID, your PayPal email, the license key — so we can re-issue your key and handle support.
  • This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts.
  • Your data, your call: email support@renitor.com to see or delete anything we hold about you.

Who is responsible

Renitor is made and operated by [OWNER: legal name of the individual or company], [OWNER: postal address] (the "data controller" in GDPR terms — the person responsible for the little data that exists).

What the extension does not collect

The Renitor extension has no backend and phones home to no one. Concretely:

  • No telemetry or analytics. There is no usage tracking of any kind — not anonymized, not aggregated, none.
  • No account. You never sign up, log in, or give us an email address to use the extension.
  • No activation server. Pro license keys are verified entirely offline, on your machine, against a public key embedded in the extension. Activating Pro makes no network request.
  • No automatic error reporting. If something breaks, nothing is sent anywhere. The diagnostics command is manual: you run it, the report is copied to your clipboard, and you decide who (if anyone) sees it.

What stays on your machine

Everything the extension needs lives locally, inside VS Code's own storage:

  • Chat sessions and history — stored locally by VS Code, never uploaded.
  • Provider API keys — stored in VS Code Secret Storage, which uses your operating system's keychain.
  • Your license key and trial start date — stored in VS Code's local extension storage.
  • Error output — stays in VS Code's local logs on your machine.

Uninstalling the extension and clearing VS Code's extension data removes all of it. We could not delete it for you even if you asked — we never had it.

The AI providers you connect

Renitor is a chat client for models you configure. When you send a message, your prompt — including any code, files, or context you attach — goes directly from your machine to the provider handling that message:

Those providers process your prompts under their own policies and terms, using the API key or subscription that belongs to you. We are not in that path: we never see, proxy, store, or log your conversations, and we have no way to. If you don't connect a provider, nothing is sent to anyone.

When you buy a Pro license

Payment is handled entirely by PayPal. Your card or bank details go to PayPal, not to us — this site never sees them. PayPal processes your payment under the PayPal privacy statement.

After PayPal confirms the payment, we store one purchase record in Cloudflare Workers KV (our hosting provider's key-value store). That record contains exactly:

  • the PayPal order ID
  • your PayPal email address (as verified by PayPal — also the name on your license)
  • the license key we issued you
  • the amount, currency, and timestamp of the purchase

Why we keep it: to re-issue your license key if you lose it, to handle support and refund requests, and to keep basic sale records. That's the whole purpose — the record is never used for marketing and never shared or sold. In GDPR terms, we process it to fulfil our contract with you and to meet ordinary bookkeeping obligations.

How long: for as long as the license is meant to work — a lifetime license needs a lasting record so your key can always be recovered. You can ask us to delete it at any time (see "Your rights"); just know that after deletion we can no longer re-issue your key if you lose it.

The waitlist

If you join the waitlist on our homepage, we store the email address you typed, the short "what's your stack" text if you added one, and a timestamp — in Cloudflare Workers KV. It is used only to tell you about Renitor's availability, and deleted on request.

This website

renitor.com is a static site served by Cloudflare:

  • No cookies. We set none.
  • No analytics or tracking scripts. The only JavaScript on the site draws the product demo and animations; nothing measures you.
  • No third-party requests. Even the fonts are embedded in the site itself — your browser talks to no font host, CDN, or tracker.
  • Hosting. Like any host, Cloudflare processes the technical data of each request (such as your IP address) to deliver the pages and protect against abuse, under the Cloudflare privacy policy.

Who we share data with

Nobody, beyond the two service providers already named: PayPal (payment processing) and Cloudflare (hosting and storage of the purchase and waitlist records). We do not sell data, we do not run ads, and we have no "partners".

Your rights

Under the GDPR (and in plain fairness), you can ask us at any time to:

  • see the purchase or waitlist record we hold about you,
  • correct it,
  • delete it, or
  • receive a copy of it in a portable format.

Email support@renitor.com — include your PayPal order ID or the email you paid with so we can find the record. We respond within [OWNER: commit to a response window, e.g. 30 days]. If you believe we've mishandled your data, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Everything else — your chats, keys, sessions — is on your machine, not ours, so it is already fully under your control.

Changes to this policy

If anything here changes, we will update this page and the date below. Given how little we collect, changes should be rare and boring.
